MESSAGE FOR MARCH 15, 2020
In this time of uncertainty, let’s take a step back and reflect on what is important! As we seek to understand all that is happening around us, let’s remember to seek God and God’s guidance! In order to do this, we have to put God first in ALL that we do! Matthew 22:37, Luke 10:27, Mark 12:20, & even Deuteronomy 6:5 all tell us, in a few differences of words, to love the Lord, our God, with all our hearts, with all our souls, with all our (minds, strength, might). Matthew 22:38 tells us that this is the first and greatest commandment! This is what matters most! If we allow God to be the most important part of our lives, everything else will fall into place! So let’s think about something that may be heavy on your hearts today. You may be thinking that because we aren’t meeting together in the church building that worship can’t happen. Hopefully you realize that we should never stop worshiping! God is always with us and we should always be seeking to show God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) that we are present with our Lord! Whether in prayer, song, thought, or deed; we can give God the glory for our lives and for this world that has been given to us. Take time especially today, as we are taking a Sabbath away from gathering to spend some quality and quantity time praise and worshiping the Lord. 1. Pray2. Read the Word and reflect on it 3. Listen to some Christian music that touches your soul and sing along 4. Walk through the fresh air and sunshine communing with God5. Take time to reflect on what God wants you to do in service to others6. And above all else, give yourself completely to God, allowing the Lord of your salvation to guide you in all you do and say.
Let’s pray together…Dear Almighty God (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit), We come to you with humble hearts, and with unsettled feelings as we place ourselves into your care and keeping today and in the weeks ahead. Lord, calm our spirits and help us to center into You as we hear Your Word and all that You have for us to contemplate and understand this day and in the days ahead in all of the concern, unsettledness, and change that we are experiencing at this time. Give us the desire to be ever closer to You, and lead us in the best ways possible to spend every day giving ourselves to You. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen
